Chain Reaction..
There's a commerical that comes on T.V. and it captures everything that my blog is about. I can't remember what the commerical was even for but it made me want to help someone any time I saw it. It's basically saying that when you help someone, the person you helped will most likely help the next person. It also says that someone could've saw you helping someone and decides that they want to help someone out as well. It becomes a chain reaction throughout the whole commerical, if that happened on a day to day basis the world would probably be a different place. I want people to look at my blog and decide to be that chain reaction that I saw in the commerial. Hwlping others can be pretty tiring but worthwhile.
Animated Journey...
Today I took my little brother to see a animated movie called Planes: Fire and Rescue. The whole movie was basically about putting others above yourself every once in a while. It takes you on the journey of a plane that is so focused on himself and is willing to die just to prove others wrong. He finds out that something is wrong with him, when he hits the red zone it will make him crash and die. The plane decides to push himself and ends up messing up an huge event for the town. He then leaves to learn to be fire fighter, and at first he just went to just get certified. He later learns to be a team player and put others before him. He helps saves two lives and goes on to continue being a fire fighter. To see this in a kids movie really touched my heart because he was on a downward spiral. He found himself by helping others and he developed into a new plane. I don't believe kids are thinking about this kind of thing when they watch movies but I do. Helping others can make you into a person you never knew you could be without putting another person above you.

Save a life...
Helping others can sometimes make you feel uncomfortable because you just don't want to be in the middle of something. But you feel like if you don't intervine then things may become worse. There was a lady that had two cousins, one boy and one girl. They were being abused verbally and physically but she didn't want to get involved. Till one day her girl cousin came running to her house crying with brusies on her thigh and back. The lady first instinct was to call the police but she knew how her aunt would react so she came up with a different idea. She let her cousin stay at her house that night and took her to school the next day. She decided to make an anonymous call to child protective services and explain what happen. From this day forward the kids are doing great! If the lady had not step in to help things might have turned out differently. You stepping into cetain situation can save a life so even if things are uncomfortable try to help.
A story of a 10 year old...
A little ten year old girl woke up in a hospital after her house burned down. She looks for her family but they are nowhere to be found so she begins to cry. After a couple of days her grandmother shows up and she has never been so happy to see her before in her life. The little girl asks for her mom and her grandmother lets her know that she has to work. The little girl thinks that it is crazy that she is in the hospital but her mom has yet to come see her. A few weeks go by and she feels herself getting stronger but she still has yet to see her mom. On that day they decide to tell her that her mom died in the fire and the little girl becomes sick. They also tell her that one of her little brothers have died along with an aunt and a cousin. She wonders why they wait so long to tell her but she finds out its because they didn't want to chance her going into another coma. A week later she can walk again and she gets ready to leave the hospital with her grandmother. She realized that everything she has every owned has been destroyed and all the Christmas presents she just got are gone. Once the news got out that it was her, she recieved so much help from others. She was sent money and clothes from strangers to get clothes, friends of the family let her stay in their home. People she didn't even know helping her really warmed her heart and she felt loved. Even though she just lost everything seeing people help her without knowing her made her want to always help others. She is now a twenty-one year social work major at Washburn University and she plans to help people for the rest of her life.

Helping the kids....
In high school there is so much is going on from hoping to get a boyfriend/girlfriend to being worried about making an athletic team. As a high schooler you can become overwhelmed with your surroundings and get lost in the hype. Some kids know that there is someone at the school they can talk to but there are others that have no clue. At Topeka High I must give them a hand clap because they try to reach their 1800+ students as much as possible. They have pictures of the counselors throughout the school so kids can know that there is someone there if they need help with anything. They have a Social Worker , Lesia Carter, that is truly amazing and has been there for years. She is there to listen and to help you with any problem you may have. She will help with scholarship essays, check grades, and she will push you to do better everyday you step into Topeka High. She still has great relationships with past students because she was like a mother to most of them. Everyone calls her "Mama Carter" but I just call her mom. Helping others can be an everyday thing or it can be something you choose to do every once in awhile. I suggest that you just help someone whenever you can because in the end it will bring you joy.

Description Post
My blog is about helping others whether it is children, teenagers, or adults. I love helping other people to the best of my ability! I will come up with 10 post with different situations about helping others get the resources they need or just being a good listener. There may be some personal situations, it may be about something I read online, or something I learned in class. I hope this blog helps people learn and get better at putting others first sometimes. Helping others can feel very rewarding after you have done all you can to help and whomever is just so thankful.
